A Review of the Mechanism of Cardiac Benefit of Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter 2 Inhibitors

چکیده
Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT2i) is a new type of hypoglycemic drug, which can reduce the excitability sympathetic nerve by regulating metabolism energy substrate, electrolyte, tissue fluid and circulating blood volume in ganglion, interfering with inflammation oxidative stress, offering protection to vascular endothelial cells, maintaining vasodilation function, pressure load myocardial metabolism, as well protecting cardiomyocytes cardiac function.

Impact of sodium–glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors on blood pressure
SGLT2 inhibitors are glucose-lowering agents used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). These agents target the kidney to promote urinary glucose excretion, resulting in improved blood glucose control. SGLT2-inhibitor therapy is also associated with weight loss and blood pressure (BP) lowering. Hypertension is a common comorbidity in patients with T2DM, and is associated with excess morbidi...
متن کاملHemodynamic Effects of Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter 2 Inhibitors
It is widely accepted that obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) increase the risk of heart failure (HF) independently of underlying coronary artery disease. The changes in myocardial structure or function associated with diabetes have been termed diabetic cardiomyopathy. Corresponding to changes in the risk factors for HF, an epidemiologic transition is underway from HF with a reduced ej...

UNLABELLED Blood glucose-lowering treatment options generally target insulin action or beta-cell function. In diabetes, expression of the sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) genes is up-regulated and renal threshold increased, resulting in increased glucose reabsorption from glomerular filtrate, reducing urinary glucose excretion and worsening the hyperglycemic condition. The SGLT2 inhibitor...
